IS THIS THE NEW JEDWARD?

Well, Lloyd Daniels can only be one-half of our beloved, if musically-challenged, Irish twins (RIP John and Edward). Check out this Ronan Keating lookalike (but NOT sound-alike) on this weekend’s edition of The X-Factor as he gives his all (i.e. nothing) to Elton John’s “I’m Still Standing”.

JEDWARD, WE HARDLY KNEW YE!

Here is the Irish twin towers’ swan song, their version of Boyzone’s “No Matter What” … a lovely ballad that demonstrates CLEARLY how, no matter how beloved, these two cannot carry a tune. Louie Walsh: WHY?????????

But the future’s so bright — we know it! Gary Barlow is no doubt already hard at work penning you another “Rock DJ.” Oops! That’s Robbie Williams. Well, whatever: We know you’ll be back!

Best line was from Simon Cowell after your performance of “I’m Your Man”/”Wham Rap”: “It’s not George and Andrew — more like Andrew and Andrew.”

But seriously (?!), we’ll miss you, boys!

The good news: John & Edward perform “I’m Your Man” on X-Factor’s Wham! night.

The bad news: It wasn’t enough to keep their winning streak going. Sadly, judge Dannii Minogue went on and on about it being “a singing competition” and therefore was compelled to vote them off. Look who’s talking, Dannii!!

Let the Irish twins entertain you for the second-to-last time here!

Next post will include their swan song :(

X FACTOR’S JEDWARD WAX CHUMP LIKE A CANDLE!!!

We’ve told you before: England’s (and Simon’s Cowell’s) The X Factor — a weekly singing competition that lures about 15 million viewers in a country of 55ish-million — makes American Idol look like a low-budget cable show. The Top Ten’s performances get the works: backing singers, dancers, elaborate stage sets, and, in the case of popular Irish twins John and Edward (or as the press dubbed them, Jedward), giant blow-up likenesses of its singers.

Last night, Jedward won raves from the judging panel (which includes Cowell) for their mash-up of Under Pressure by Queen and Ice Ice Baby by Vanilla Ice. In the beginning the compeition, the twins were jawdroppingly awful; now they are entertaining, so long as they don’t choose a song that requires, well, singing. Behold the latest teen idol champions of the world — no matter how they finish on X-Factor!

JEDWARD’S TRULY SCARY HALLOWEEN PERFORMANCE

Just getting around now to posting last week’s appalling (yet, as usual, enthralling, performance by the teen twin towers John & Edward on England’s American Idol equivalent, X Factor. Even Simon Cowell said their rendition of “Ghostbusters” was “good” … for an audiences of one-and-a-half year-olds. Eek!

BTW, we think is a better show because 1. it allows groups and duos and 2. the budget for the sets, dancers and backing singers blows’ Idol’s basics-only approach.  3. the judges are personally invested because each is responsible for “coaching” (whatever that means) a few of the acts. The man behind Jedward is English boy band power house svengali Louie Walsh, who oversaw the likes of Boyzone (RIP Stephen Gatley).
