Best & Worst Trends of the 2000's

New York Mag tags the top trends of the decade — the good, the bad, and the downright hideous.

From Louboutins …

… to skinny jeans.

From hobo chic …

… to thongs and muffin tops.

QUESTION: Which are your favorite trends of the decade? Which ones would you rather forget (or ever admit to following)?

HATS OFF to head toppers! During a recession, it’s all about the accessories, down to a fabulous (and inexpensive) tube of fire engine-red lipstick!

We are all about decorative hats with veils and/or plumes of feathers this fall and winter. They’re not just for weddings — they’re one sexy accessory that’ll help you stand out from the pack!!!
Thanks, lookbooknu!

Again, accessories rule!
Bright hose and a sequined beret are so chic — and much less costly than buying an entire new outfit. We love dressing up inexpensive American Apparel separates with personal touches!
Thanks, LookBookNu!

How can they see with sequins in their eyes

IT’S ALL ABOUT THE ACCESSORIES!
Just yesterday, we were in NYC’s TopShop, and my very fashionable friend from All My Children and I shared our love of layering cool, not costly accessories over sexy, well-cut basics. This girl has the right idea, from her dotted host to her navy heeled oxfords — plus the big bag ang long chain necklace.
Love it! Thanks LookBookNU!

A-Morir by Kerin Rose: Accessories to Die For
ThisGirl Alison
From spots on The City to coverage in the NY Post, Kerin Rose has been throwing handfulls of glitter into the fashion world for about a year. With her line, A-Morir, this Patricia Fields employee has handmade some of the most popular bedazzled sunglasses, converse, handbags, and headbands in recent celebrity trends. Rihanna and Katy Perry are two of Kerin’s biggest fans, and are only two of the many celebrities who are scooping up A-Morir finds.
Kerin Rose says it herself, the line is meant to “break necks and drop jaws”—so don’t expect to go unnoticed wearing anything of hers. From Swarovski encrusted sneakers to vintage feather headbands, Kerin Rose is the queen of the accent piece. I CAN NOT wait to see more from her!
