R & R Hall of Fame Screws Linda Ronstadt … Again

When will Linda Ronstadt be loved … by the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, that is? The most significant female rocker of the 1970s has yet to be inducted alongside fellow distaff interpretative singers Brenda Lee and Dusty Springfield.
She’s not even among 2010’s nominees that will ultimately determine next year’s class: ABBA, The Chantels, Jimmy Cliff, Genesis, The Hollies, KISS, LL Cool J, Darlene Love, Laura Nyro, Red Hot Chili Peppers, The Stooges, and Donna Summer. (This year’s nominees had to release their first single no later than 1984.)
It’s such a shame too: After the excellent Rock & Roll Hall of Fame concerts staged at Madison Square Garden and televised last week, it appeared the Hall was gaining back some of the credibility its lost over the years. Sigh …
